There are 4.3 Million displaced people in Pakistan, who are the victims of the country’s fight against terrorism. The formidable task of providing food, shelter, medical care and basic facilities to an equal of half Ireland’s population, is beyond the capacity of any single country.
We help to “keep hope alive” with the following projects :
Bazaar na Náisiún
“Bazaar na náisiún - Bazaar of the Nations” is the well known name for a tradition in Dublin:
spouses of ambassadors and their Irish friends invite the whole city to taste their traditional food, look for local and exotic fine crafts, and even buy art. All items are donated for this purpose and prepared exclusively by volunteers. This year’s recipients are women and children in Ireland and abroad.
The Bazaar aims to raise Irish awareness for neighbourhood problems, victims of torture in Ireland from all over the world, and relief for female victims of warfare in Bethlehem and Northern Pakistan.
All proceeds go to charity
Music therapy for survivors of torture provides care and rehabilitation to women, where language barriers and cultural borders challenge communication. Music therapy can produce wonders! (SPIRASI)
Saying No to Poverty in Ireland is the target of this awareness program for communities, children, men and women. Awareness of poverty and solidarity in families and neighbourhoods in Ireland, is a desperate need in times of recession (ATD Fourth World).
Uniforms for the staff in Holy Family Hospital, Bethlehem, have been a need for a long time, while all budget resources went into obstetrical and gynaecological equipment of the only Maternity Hospital in the West Bank attended mainly by Palestinian women (Order of Malta Ireland).
